Lilli and Sophie have just received the results of their submission in the December 2009 WCFO Competition. We are delighted to announce that the Two Poodles came first in their division! Video and details are on the WCFO Achievements page on this site. Rainbow Bridge 01/19/2010
Sadly, we have had a need to update our Rainbow Bridge page. Chester and Yoda left unexpectedly to join their friends in the meadow. We will miss you little guys, but know that you are now free from the pain you were feeling. Dances with Dogs competitions to start soon 01/04/2010
With the appointment of five new Victorian Judges, competitions for the now nationally recognised sport of Dances with Dogs Freestyle & Heelwork to Music will start in Victoria soon. We will post details of competitions as soon as they are available. Big Day Out for Dogs 2009 01/04/2010
Melbourne Canine Freestyle was once again invited by Dogs Victoria to participate in the Big Day Out for Dogs in December, 2009. It was once again a very successful day, with the weather being kinder to us this year, and the hundreds of dogs and people attending thoroughly enjoyed themselves. The team once again showed some of their routines, and followed up by inviting members of the audience and their varieties of dogs into the ring for some instruction in how to teach their dogs freestyle moves. Sharen's new Sheltie pup Kricket made her debut appearance at 3 months of age, being a great hit when she was learning the basics of jumping through a hoop. Richard Curtis 01/04/2010
We are very much looking forward to another visit/weekend workshop by Richard Curtis in April. Richard gave his last workshop here three years ago, and all who attended found it a very instructive and enjoyable weekend. Although all places for handlers with dogs are taken, there are still some spots left for attendees without dogs. For more information, contact Sue Cordwell. Phillip Island demonstration 08/07/2009
Sue was invited by the Phillip Island Companion Dog Club to give a talk and demonstration on Canine Freestyle on Friday night. After a wild, wet and windy trip down, the team helped Sue show a group of around 40 people (and their numerous dogs of all types) what the sport is all about, and had most of them joining in with great enthusiasm. A really great night, and a great opportunity to show the Companion Dog Club another way to have fun with their dogs. Sophie and Lynda 08/03/2009
Sophie and Lynda competed in the State Obedience Trials at KCC Park last Saturday, August 1st. Sophie obtained her First Pass towards her Novice Title, gaining 184 points and coming second in the ring. Congratulations to both Sophie and Lynda! Have a look at the photo of Sophie on the Miscellaneous Photos page, looking very proud decked out in her regalia. Welcome 08/03/2009
Welcome to our new Melbourne Canine Freestyle website, which has been created by Navy. Many thanks to Navy for all the work she has put in, both designing and creating the site, and for transferring it over from the previous site. We have included some new features in this website, to make it more interactive, so if you have something regarding your dogs you would like to share with us, whether it is Titles gained, or new activities your dogs have taken up, please use this blog to let us know by emailing the Webmaster with the details. Also, if you have any special doggie photos for our miscellaneous page, please email them to the Webmaster and they will be uploaded. |
